Accessibility Statement

Last updated July 25, 2026

Our commitment

Lark Dating is committed to making the app usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We want dating through a friend to be welcoming and workable no matter how you use your device, whether that's a screen reader, keyboard navigation, voice control, or larger text.

Standard we follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and adopted widely for digital accessibility. Lark is a young product under active development, so we consider ourselves partially conformant: most of the app meets the standard, and we are working to close the gaps.

What we've built in

Accessibility is part of how we build, not an afterthought. Across the app you'll find semantic structure and headings, text alternatives and labels on icon-only buttons, proper roles on controls like toggles and tabs, labelled form fields, visible keyboard focus outlines, and a color system checked for contrast against its backgrounds in both light and dark themes. Dialogs and bottom sheets expose the right roles, move focus in and back out, and close on Escape. Motion is kept purposeful, and we honor your system's “reduce motion” setting for decorative animation. The layout adapts to larger text and different screen sizes.

Known limitations

We're honest that some areas are still improving. A few interactive moments (for example, the swipe-to-pitch gesture in Discover) may not yet be fully optimized for every assistive technology, and third-party or embedded content is not always under our direct control. Where a gesture exists, we try to provide a button alternative. If you hit a barrier, please tell us and we'll prioritize a fix.

Compatibility

Lark is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox) on current operating systems, together with their built-in assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and screen readers like NVDA. Using the latest versions gives the best experience.

Give us feedback

If you run into an accessibility barrier on Lark, we want to hear about it. Email team@larkdating.comwith the page or feature, what happened, and the device or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve valid issues as quickly as we reasonably can. You can also report problems from Profile, Privacy & safety inside the app.

Enforcement

This statement reflects our ongoing effort rather than a guarantee that every part of the app is fully conformant at all times. We review accessibility as we ship new features and update this page as things change.
