This Acceptable Use Policy says what you may not do on Lark Dating. It applies to everyone: daters, matchmakers, and anyone who shows up in a profile, a prompt, a pitch, a photo, a voice note, or a message. It is part of our Terms of Service, and it adds to them rather than replacing them. Where the Terms are stricter, the Terms win.
You must be 18 or older to use Lark Dating. You may not create an account if you are under 18, create or manage an account for anyone under 18, or use Lark Dating to contact, groom, sexualise or solicit a minor. You may not post a photo, a video or a recording of a minor in a sexual or suggestive context, ever, including one of yourself at a younger age. If we believe an account belongs to a minor we remove it.
You may not use Lark Dating for any illegal act, or to plan, arrange, promote or assist one. That includes selling or arranging drugs, weapons, stolen goods, stolen credentials or counterfeit items, prostitution and any other commercial sexual service, money laundering, and any attempt to break into an account or a system that is not yours. It also covers content that is illegal where you are, and content that breaks another person's rights, including copyright and trademark.
Lark Dating is not an adult platform. You may not post or send sexually explicit content anywhere on Lark Dating, and that includes nudity, exposed genitals, exposed buttocks or female nipples, visible sexual arousal, sexual acts, simulated sexual acts, close-up shots of intimate body parts, sex toys, fetish content, and drawn, animated or computer-generated versions of any of it. Profiles, prompts, pitches, photos, voice notes, display names and bios are all covered. Sexually explicit or graphic sexual language is treated the same way as an image. Keep profile content the kind of thing you would be happy for a stranger's friend to open, because on Lark Dating that is exactly who sees it.
We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation or abuse. You may not post, send, request, link to, describe or trade child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualises a minor, and you may not use Lark Dating to groom, solicit, sextort or arrange to meet a minor, or to advertise, promote or normalise any of that. There is no warning and no appeal. We remove the content, we terminate the account and any other account we can link to it, we report the matter to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by 18 U.S.C. 2258A, we preserve the associated records as that statute requires, and we cooperate fully with law enforcement. If you see anything like this on Lark Dating, report it in the app or email safety@larkdating.com and we will act on it. If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
You may not use Lark Dating to commit, threaten, arrange, celebrate, joke about or recruit for sexual violence. That covers rape and attempted rape, sexual assault and unwanted sexual touching, drugging someone or getting them drunk in order to have sex with them, and sex with anyone who is asleep, unconscious, or otherwise unable to agree. You may not post content that depicts, praises or encourages sexual violence, and you may not send unsolicited sexual images or messages to anyone. Consent has to be given freely, and it can be withdrawn at any point. We report credible threats of sexual violence to law enforcement, and an account used this way is removed permanently.
Post people only with their permission. You may not share intimate or sexual images or recordings of anyone who did not agree to you sharing them, including images someone sent you privately, images taken while they were unaware, and faked or edited images that put a real person into sexual content. You may not threaten to share any of that, which is a form of extortion and ends an account on its own. You may not record a call or a meeting without consent where the law requires it, post upskirt, hidden-camera or other voyeuristic material, or publish another person's private information, their address, phone number, workplace or identity documents, without their consent. If someone shares an image of you without your consent, email safety@larkdating.com and we will remove it.
You may not use Lark Dating for human trafficking or sex trafficking of any kind, or for sexual exploitation, forced labour, or servitude. You may not recruit, transport, harbour, advertise or solicit a person for any of that, and you may not aid, abet, facilitate, fund or encourage it, whether the act itself would happen on Lark Dating or somewhere else. You may not advertise, arrange or solicit commercial sexual services here. We report what we find to law enforcement. In the United States, the National Human Trafficking Hotline is 1-888-373-7888, or text 233733.
You may not use Lark Dating to defraud anyone. No romance scams, no pretending to be someone you are not, no fake or stolen photos, no asking a match for money, gift cards, crypto, bank or card details, verification codes or a loan, no investment or trading tips, no phishing links, no off-platform payment requests, and no directing people to paid content, cam sites, or subscription pages. Matchmakers: pitch your friend honestly. You may not run bots, automated accounts, or bulk messaging, and you may not sell, buy, rent or share accounts. If someone asks you for money on Lark Dating, do not send it, and report them.
Be a decent human. You may not harass, bully, stalk, threaten or intimidate anyone, keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop, or organise other people to pile on. You may not attack anyone over race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, disability, illness, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation, or post hateful symbols or slurs. No violent threats, no glorifying violence, no content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders, and no terrorist or violent extremist material. A no is an answer, and unmatching is not something to punish anyone for.
Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit or hide a profile, warn an account, suspend it, or terminate it permanently along with any linked accounts and without a refund. The things in the sexual exploitation, sexual violence, and trafficking sections above end an account on the first instance, with no warning and no appeal. We review reports from users, we use automated checks on photos and text, and we act on what we find. To be straight with you about what that is not: we do not run criminal background checks, we do not verify anyone's identity, and no person reads every profile before it goes live, so a profile appearing on Lark Dating is not us vouching for it. Read the Safety Center for what we do and do not check, and use your own judgment when you meet anyone.
Every profile, pitch and chat has a report option, and reporting is private. You can also email safety@larkdating.com with what you saw and where, and we will look at it. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then tell us so we can preserve what we hold. Law enforcement should send requests, including preservation requests, subpoenas, court orders and emergency disclosure requests, to legal@larkdating.com, and the full protocol is in our Terms of Service.
We may update this policy as the product grows and as we learn from what gets reported. Material changes will be announced in the app, and the date at the top of this page always tells you which version you are reading.
